Winnie’s wisdom, “…you are never too old to learn you know!..”, resonates at various forums where she’s a revered speaker.
Sr. Precious Chanda: The Smiling Scholar
Known for her ever-present smile, Sr. Precious Chanda inspires scholarship students across Zimbabwe and Zambia. With her guidance, an impressive 97% of children in the scholarship program passed their standardized exams. She creatively provided smartphones for impoverished children lacking computers, embodying her belief that “Every child not in school represents a lost opportunity to make the world a better place.”
Sr. Mary Paul Wamatu: Empowering Change from Within
Sr. Mary Paul Wamatu dedicates her life to arming those in extreme poverty with the necessary tools for liberation. A strong advocate for community education, she champions the “first you must save” principle of microfinancing, leading to the success of sustainable income-generating projects.
Sr. Fidelia Ncube: Fearless Financier
Sr. Fidelia Ncube seamlessly transitions from her daily responsibilities to drive microfinancing initiatives. Her patience, humility, and perseverance make her a beloved figure among Microfinancing Groups members. As a project manager, Fidelia oversees all Microfinancing programs in Zimbabwe and Zambia, embodying the dependable support everyone needs.
Sr. Annet Warue Nyaga: Catalyst of Change
Annet embodies selflessness and dependability, tirelessly working to ensure group members receive the necessary training and resources. Her efforts as a coordinator of MPA groups across East Africa, especially in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar, are notable. Annet’s teaching methods are as passionate as they are participatory, transforming learning into an adventure.
Rachel Mkakulasi Ndyamukama: A Beacon of Empowerment
Rachel Mkakulasi Ndyamukama, a founding member of the Bukoba Women’s Empowerment Association (BUWEA), has seen the group grow from five to nearly 1500 members! Her journey from a mother with a dream to seeing her son become a medical doctor illustrates the universal desire of parents to create a better world for their children. Rachel’s legacy is a testament to the empowerment she’s championed.
