Partner is a Verb
MPA stands for “Microfinancing Partners in Africa.” The word “partners” is inclusive for us. We partner with you, our generous donors, to steward your gifts for maximum impact. We partner with grassroots organizations doing great microfinancing.
Through these groups, MPA partners with people living in the direst of circumstances: desperate poverty with its underlying burdens and threats to health, community, and dignity. The people who are struggling to climb out of such extreme poverty are not merely recipients of charity.
They are our heroes. How can we not be inspired?

What Types of Microfinance Programs Do You Equip for Success?
Each of our programs follows a model of “microfinancing the MPA way.” Some do this within a “dollars-and-cents” financial loan structure; others do this by applying the principles of microfinancing to a pay-it-forward economic empowerment program. Each of our programs requires that members save or invest in some way; clearly communicate the terms by which the loan will be repaid or paid forward; train and support members to navigate the inevitable obstacles; and ultimately empower communities to implement economic solutions at the grassroots level.
How Microfinancing Theories Apply to All Our Programs
1. Microfinancing
Local grassroots microfinancing organizations offer training, support, and a reliable method of saving, borrowing, and growing a business.
2. Saving
Individuals start saving or investing effort in some way.
3. Training
Small groups train together and support each other.
4. Improvements
When the loan is repaid, the income project grows. Savings accumulate. Family nutrition, health, and schooling improve.
5. Transformation
People transform into donors and leaders, helping their neighbors and solving community issues.
