Once you carry your own water, you will learn the value of every drop.
This is exactly what our friends in Africa face every day. Some children, as young as 8, walk three or more miles each day to get water for their families. And most times, when they walk three miles to get the water, it is not even clean water.
Unclean water is the greatest common threat to life, health, education, and economic advancement among the people we strive to help. International health organizations report that 115 people die in Africa every hour due to water-borne diseases from drinking unclean water.
With your help, we can allow a young girl, age 8, to attend school and not have to spend her day walking to get water.
With your help, we can change the lives of people in the communities we serve by giving them access to clean water.
In 2018, MPA started a focus on water by introducing water filters that clean up to 99.9999% of harmful bacteria out of the water. Knowing we could do more to help, in 2021 MPA funded two pilot projects that involved digging boreholes to have access to clean water. The water filters and boreholes are life-changing to the villages and people who receive them.
A select group of donors have already pledged $65,000 in funding IF we are able to match that amount. This means that your donation will be matched by other donors and will have DOUBLE the impact. Our goal is to raise $130,000 for water projects with Challengers donating $65,000 and then donors and friends matching the donations to raise the other $65,000.
As with all MPA programming, all borehole and water filter projects have a sustainable element to ensure that we are giving people a “hand up” and that they are the directors of their future.
Thank YOU for making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
From July 1 until August 31, generous donors will match your contributions for MPA’s Clean Water program up to $65,000.
