
Rebecca Buell
Interim Executive Director
Rebecca Buell serves as Interim Executive Director of Microfinancing Partners in Africa, bringing more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit and higher education leadership, organizational strategy, partnership development, and program design. She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, along with graduate degrees in Church and Community Ministries and Marriage and Family Counseling. Rebecca has led international nonprofit initiatives, supported education and humanitarian projects in Africa and the Middle East, and spent more than a decade in higher education administration building partnerships, developing programs, strengthening teams, and advancing philanthropy. She is passionate about education, community empowerment, and creating opportunities for people and communities to thrive. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys life with her husband and their four adult children—and considers taking her grandbabies to the library one of her very favorite roles.

Tom Angote
PROGRAMS Director
Tom Angote serves as Programs Director for Microfinancing Partners in Africa, strengthening community-based programs and partnerships across Africa. He studied Project Management and Monitoring & Evaluation and brings more than 12 years of experience leading community development programs with a U.S.-based organization, coordinating local partners and field activities and overseeing projects designed for sustainable impact. Tom is passionate about empowering families and communities through entrepreneurship, practical skills, and access to opportunities that build financial independence, resilience, and stronger futures for generations to come. He lives in Nairobi, Kenya, with his wife and two children and enjoys spending time with his family and engaging with communities to better understand their needs and identify practical ways to support their growth.
